Postcard from Hell

Anne Frank, one of the most famous victims of the Holocaust, was born today in 1929. Her diary is one of the most widely read books in the world.

Flowers bloom in the dooryard of the camp’s barracks. Walking through and seeing the benches where prisoners lay five or six across, I want to lie down. Outside there are postcards (Hi, folks, wish you were here?), books, pictures and concessions for sale. Pinto herds us into the bus he’s rented. We have a banquet to attend. -- Chapter 43, The Misforgotten.
