Never mind
On this day in 1633, Galileo recanted his assertion that the Earth moves around the sun.
"I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason and intellect has intended us to forgo their use." -- Galileo.
He’d always been amused by the idea of Heaven and Hell and even more by the incredible fact that most people, apparently, took the idea seriously.
